Photoshop Save For Web

Use the above settings in the Save for Web dialog box. Adjust the Quality slider until you get a combination of small file size and acceptable image quality. Checking the Progressive option will also result in a slightly smaller file size.
After you make the necessary image adjustments, click Save. In the Save Optimized As dialog box navigate to the folder that you want to save the image in, give the file a new name (be sure to change the name, you don't want to replace your original file! Click Save.
