Submitting Your Site to Search Engines
Great, the hard part
is done. The next step is to submit your web site to the
search engines. You have three options:
Visit each search engine and submit your site manually (this takes a lot of time, but I've found that I get better results.) To add your site, look at the bottom of the search engines main page for a link to Add URL or similar text. I submit my site once a month to keep it listed with the search engines. Here are some links to help you get started:
Google: http://www.google.com/addurl.html

Open Directory: http://dmoz.org/add.html
- This directory is used by a lot of other engines, so be sure to get
listed here.

You may opt to use some of the free
submission services on the web. If you use mass submission services, do
not use your regular email address, use a free Hotmail
or Yahoo email address.

After you have submitted your site to the various engines, you can use
a web position analyzer program to check the status of your site. (Note:
It may take a couple of weeks for your site to be indexed on the search
engine.)
