Message Rules in Incredimail
I automatically send all email messages that are over 100KB to a folder called Attachments.
In Incredimail create a new folder, Right click the Inbox and select New Subfolder, name the folder Attachments and press Enter.
From the Tools menu select Message Rules > Add
On the drop down list under If select Size is Bigger Than
In the KB box type the desired size (I use 100 KB, I had it at 41 KB when another virus was going around because that was the typical file size of the attachment).
On the drop down list under Then select Move it To
Click the Browse button (three dots) and select the Attachments folder that you created earlier.
When I open my Attachments folder I am careful to examine mail messages prior to opening them.
Additional Incredimail tips
The Klez virus is spreading like crazy right now. One of the features that I really like about Incredimail (if you purchase it) is that you can preview your messages on the mail server prior to downloading them.
If you click on the small down arrow next to the Send and Receive button and select Preview Messages on Server you will get a list of all your messages. You can then select any message you think may have a virus (messages with attachments that are more than 100kb, have an odd subject line, and are from someone you don't regularly correspond with (or from yourself) and click the Delete button (if you hold down the shift key while you click Delete the message will be deleted without a confimation screen.)
I also turn off automatic downloading of email messages. Go to Tools > Options > General and Uncheck Check for new messages every so many minutes.
I downloaded Mail Washer, http://www.mailwasher.net, and I think it's a very cool spam tool. The interface is easy to learn and it highlights messages that are suspected to be virues in red. I was getting Klez about 15 times per day, but of course I haven't received it since I downloaded Mail Washer, so I can't tell you how effective it is against it.
