A great little program for viewing web sites offline is HTTrack Web Site Copier. I was re-doing a site for a friend and was unable to FTP to the site to get the images and files that I needed. I used HTTrack to grab all the images and files from the site so I could re-design it. HTTrack is a freeware program.
While we're on the subject of freeware, http://www.nonags.com is a great place to find freeware programs.
MW Snap is a neat screen capture program that is also freeware.
Copernic is another must have program it is a search engine for the web. It searches the web, newsgroups, jobs and many more categories. Enter your search terms, click and Copernic search multiple engines at the same time. The really neat thing about the program is that it saves your searches for future use. Copernic Basic is freeware. Copernic Plus ($39.95 I have this version and it search over 1000 search engines) and Copernic Pro ($79.95) are also available.
No Ads stops those annoying little pop-up windows on web sites. I love this little free program.
