Icelandic Poppy - Flower Girl Returns

My favorite flower is in bloom. I just love the Icelandic Poppy.

Icelandic Poppy

I have written some tips on Photographing Crabs and Crabitats for my friends at the HCA and Hermit Crab World. While there are a few specific “crab” photography tips, this is primarily a beginner photography guide. I still have more to add, but it’s a start. If any of you have any tips to share please post them here! Thanks

I have also recently written tutorials for using Firefox, installing WordPress (blogging software) and installing and using WAMP5 Server (Apache, PHP, MySQL).

The Hermit Crab Association asked to use my hermit crab photos as a banner on the top of their web site. How cool is that!

Shell Shock

Filed under: Hermit Crabs — Robin @ 11:25 pm

Poor Eggo, he just can’t seem to find a shell that makes him happy. The green turbo that he’s wearing now is quite attractive on him, albiet a little big, but he just isn’t happy with it.

Eggo still searching for that perfect shell

I got more new shells today from Hermits Direct, the shells are nice and they have the fastest delivery. I did get a couple of tie die shells against my better judgement and I probably should have stuck with my first instinct. They weren’t bad looking, but as soon as I boiled them, the paint started to wear. :( All-in-all the shells look like they will be a better “fit” for my crabs.

Naples Sea Shell Company has really beautiful shells! I have found Frank to be very responsive to customer needs. He is very informative and responds quickly to inquiries. He has his own crew of hermit crabs so he’s very aware of their needs.

Please sign this petition to keep hermit crabs out of Walmart stores. They have them living in cups called crabinacup. They’re given little food and no extra heat or humidity.
